integrity of these files have been digitally attested to by our Executive Manager, Susan
Goolsby. Please note that these are in pdf format, and that the complete set is a
fairly large file and will take some time to download. |
Please note that In order to be
accepted, amendments shall be submitted to the Executive Manager
and must be received on or before April 1 of
the year of the Annual Session when it is to be considered

Notes from the
Jurisprudence Committee
A person can download the
files and place into a binder of their choice. We recommend that the Supreme pages
be printed on white paper as is currently used.
GGCs / JGCs
can format their Manual to be compatible with the new sizing and make available
online. It is our recommendation that each jurisdiction follow the same page
numbering as indicated on the Supreme page and if there is more than one page to contain
the necessary information it would then be numbered as 1a; 1b; 1c etc. Some
jurisdictions have different size paper so we suggest using the sizing closest to the 8.5
x 11 and print to match what is on the Supreme page even though it may create larger
margins. GGCs can utilize whatever paper color they would like, whether it is
the color they currently use, another color or white.
When a jurisdiction
formats their Manual to fit the new size we request that copies be sent to the Supreme
Guardian, Vice Supreme Guardian, Supreme Office and all members of the Supreme
Jurisprudence Committee. This will allow us to be working from the same
documents. If the only change is formatting and housekeeping items, it will not be
necessary to submit to the Supreme Jurisprudence Committee for approval. However, if
a jurisdiction makes changes to the content or integrity of a page it will be necessary to
handle this change through the amendment process. We would also encourage
jurisdictions to take this opportunity to make the changes: International Order of
Jobs Daughters to Jobs Daughters International
and IOJD to JDI as housekeeping.
At the Annual Session of
the SGC some may be working from the older, smaller size and others will already have the
larger version. It will be additionally important that we place our attention on the
ARTICLE number and Section rather than page numbers.
There will be proposed amendments to be considered at the Annual
Session to allow for the distribution of approved amendments via the website to
accommodate this change and in an attempt to reduce costs. If this is
adopted then jurisdictions can also incorporate this into the manner of handling their
amendment changes once approved through the amendment process.
