It is with great sadness that the Board of Trustees and Executive Officers of the Supreme Guardian Council inform you that Job’s Daughters International has cancelled the 2020 Supreme Session, scheduled for July 2020, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Planning for this session was always undertaken with the hope and expectation that the convention would proceed, as long as it was reasonably safe to do so. Based upon data provided by public health professionals and governmental quarantines and restrictions in the various countries of the Job’s Daughters world, it was determined that the safety of our attendees could not be reasonably guaranteed.
Hotel deposits, paid to Embassy Suites or Marriott Hotels will be reimbursed, but we ask that you do NOT contact the hotels directly. The hotel reimbursements will be made through the Supreme Office. Likewise, the company we use for registration of meals and tours will be returning your registration fees, less a small service charge from the credit card company. Information will be sent to all registrants within the next two weeks that will detail the refund process. We anticipate that all refunds will be made within the next 60 days.
We appreciate the fact that you’re going to have many questions over the next 30 days. Please allow us time to develop a program that will address how we will handle issues, such as elections, amendments and pageant. We ask that you refrain from reaching out to us as we work through these processes so that we have our full focus on the matters at hand.
The Board of Trustees and the Executive Officers of the Supreme Guardian Council are recommending that all in-person activities of JDI continue being suspended until August 31, 2020 or as directed by your local/state/provincial/territorial governments and health officials. This suspension includes, but not limited to Bethel meetings, Council meetings, CAV meetings, fundraisers, Grand Sessions, competitions and social activities.
