Members and volunteers of Job’s Daughters,
This is an urgent update to the COVID 19 State of Emergency declaration for Job’s Daughters International. Across the JDI world the pandemic situation remains very fluid. The alarming rise in cases and virus spread in most of our jurisdictions have forced JDI to put out new guidance. Our goal was to leave in person meeting decisions to local GGCs and Bethels, however at this time we can no longer do that. The health of our members and adult volunteers is the highest priority. The following recommendations are in effect immediately and remain in effect until at least January 31, 2021.
- The Constitution and Bylaws of JDI remain suspended. This includes all subordinate laws found in GGCs, JGCs, BGCs and Bethels. This is intended to support flexibility to continue creating imaginative ways to handle the business of Job’s Daughters.
- The policies of the Board, including the JDI Youth Protection Program and Trademark rules are separate from the Constitution and Bylaws and remain in full effect.
- Majority age extended to 21 beginning March 15, 2020 through December 31, 2021 if requested by the individual Daughter. This decision was made to prevent a Daughter from missing out on potential opportunities during this emergency.
- In-person events of any type are specifically no longer recommended. *
The key to the above summary is that the JDI Board of Trustees has voted unanimously that in-person activities are specifically not recommended at this time. We are recommending that all Bethels move to virtual meetings and activities only and immediately. The helpful resource materials for virtual meetings and activities remain part of the JDI Forward document on the JDI Supreme website under the COVID Resources tab.
We recognize that this continues to be a difficult and frustrating time. We must continue to work together and be creative while we all navigate these challenging situations. As usual, we will continue to monitor the situation closely and communicate any changes or updates as needed.
Should you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out.

*The in-person restriction recommendation does not include Queensland but does include all other jurisdictions.
