Job’s Daughters International is proud of its more than 100 year history as a leadership organization for girls and young women. We were founded as an organization focused on equal opportunity and we continue that commitment every day.
Job’s Daughters recognizes that respecting the diversity of individuals can strengthen and grow an organization. To help our members reach their highest potential we will endeavor to assemble a volunteer base that reflects the diversity of the countries and communities in which we participate.
Looking toward the next 100 years, Job’s Daughters International remains committed to embracing inclusive practices that support diversity and counteract bias and prejudice. We strive to provide a respectful, open and safe environment where people are treated equitably and with mutual respect regardless of their background, ethnicity, culture, beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, level of ability, family structure or lifestyle. We recognize that this commitment requires proactive measures and we shall proudly continue that work.
Job’s Daughters International recognizes that the inclusion of transgender people into mainstream life has become an important issue in today’s society. Acceptance of transgender youth is handled on an individual basis, with the best interests of the youth, family and organization in mind. If the youth is living culturally as a girl and is identified by the family, school and/or community as a girl, then Job’s Daughters is an organization where she can be included.
Accommodations should be considered by the local Bethel Guardian Council for any member who desires additional privacy for changing clothes, sleeping arrangements, or any other travel related activities.
